Mission

One 17 International develops Christ-centered schools for students who lack access to education and the Gospel.

Vision

We see a world where every child receives the opportunity to discover their God-given potential and use their gifts to transform their family, community, and country.

core values

Storytelling

Every story and every voice matters. We share the stories of our staff, students, volunteers, and communities in a way that glorifies God.

One17_Empowerment-01.png

Empowerment

Young or old, staff or student or volunteer, we believe that God created every person with intention, purpose, and a story to tell. We equip people to discover that purpose and step into their role in God’s story.

Action

“Not my job” isn’t in our vocabulary. When we see something that needs to be done—whether it’s standing against injustice or cleaning a classroom—we glorify God by rising to the challenge and taking action.

One17_Collaboration-01.png

Collaboration

God equips us to be the light of the world by giving us a specific role to play. By pursuing partnership and collaboration, we multiply our impact as we lock arms with other churches, organizations, and individuals.

Transparency

Being light means stepping fully into light. We know operational integrity depends on organizational transparency; we communicate in a way that honestly highlights progress, acknowledges shortcomings, and recognizes challenges we’re facing.

beliefs

God is Creator. God is love. God is grace. God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is passionate about His people. Jesus is our Savior, Redeemer, and friend.

God created us in His image. Each person is a unique reflection of God. People were created with intention, purpose, and a story to tell; therefore, every person deserves the opportunity to discover their potential. All people matter greatly to God; therefore, every person deserves the opportunity to receive the Good News of Jesus.

Our ultimate purpose as followers of Jesus is to glorify God by knowing Him personally, worshiping Him in word and deed, and by making Him known to others.

Name

Our name comes from Isaiah 1:17 which says, “learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” This verse defines our calling as an organization and the calling we hope to see our staff and students live out.
