This season, we’re inviting you to join a movement of love in action—a love that shows up when it’s needed most.
The Heart Behind the Campaign
In her poem “Don’t Hesitate,” Mary Oliver reminds us:
“If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy, don’t hesitate. Give in to it… Joy is not made to be a crumb.”
In the midst of hardship, this joy is a form of resistance—a way of saying, “God’s goodness is still here.”
Romans 12:10–13 calls us to live this way:
“Be devoted to one another in love… Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
At One 17 International, we’ve seen this love in action through our students and staff in Haiti and Cambodia. Even in the face of instability, displacement, and pain, they remain joyful in hope. Their courage is our inspiration—and our invitation.
Why It This Matters
In Haiti, 90% of the capital is under gang control, and thousands have been displaced. Yet our teachers continue to teach, our students continue to learn, and our leaders continue to serve their communities with unwavering faith.
In Cambodia, children facing deep material and spiritual poverty are discovering the love of Jesus and their God-given potential. We are laying the groundwork to establish a One 17 International School—where Christ-centered education will nurture both hearts and minds.
